DVD CAPTIONING GUIDELINES

DVD CAPTIONING
Captions created for DVD are identical to captions for video. DVD captions are inserted on Line 21 and viewed in the same way as video captions through your television set's closed caption decoder. As with video captions, you are limited to a standard style in order for your TV's caption decoder to read them: standard caption font, one size, upper case, up to four lines per caption, any justification. DVD captions can be produced as Pop-On or Roll-Up caption styles.

The Process:
1) You send us a VHS with burned in time code. Include a script if you have one or we can provide transcription services for you.

2) We provide you with a caption file specific to your DVD authoring software. This file will contain the text of the captions and the timing information so that your DVD author can have the maximum flexibility to choose the subtitle font best suited to your project.
