OFF-LINE CAPTIONING
Off-line Captioning Off-line captioning begins with: 1. A skilled typist transcribes the audio from your source material. 2. The text is carefully proofed for spelling, grammar and punctuation using a variety of resources. 3. The text is formatted into one of two caption styles: 4. The captions are then timed to appear in sync with the master's audio and video and proofed again by a caption editor. 5. The captions are then encoded as closed or open. Off-line captioning is most commonly used in TV programs and movies, educational videos, corporate training tapes, home videos, commercials and music videos, to name a few.
